The Child Rights Situation Analysis was looking at the nature and cause of child rights violations and the presence and ability of political, judiciary and social structures to meet them. The results show among others that there is a significant number of child abuse (physically, emotionally and sexually) and that the society and government structures are often not able to deal with them adequately.
In an effort to put this analysis to good use, CPCN organised three forums with different stakeholders in order to a) disseminate the results, b) to discuss the findings, and c) to get inspiration, guidance and support for developing a five-year action plan for CPCN. The invited stakeholders included 8 charitable children institutions, 52 members of the Court Users Committee drawn from the judiciary as well as from national and county government agencies and the civil society, and finally 42 Chiefs from the Nyahururu Sub-County.
