Last Saturday was such a special moment since we had invited children from In Heavens Eyes Children Home from Nyandarua county. We had also invited Fr. Patrick from the Nyahururu Cathedral Parish to celebrate the mass. The objective of the mass was to thank God for His unfailing providence in our everyday life. Children from the Drop-in Centre, Rehabilitation Centre and St. Rose, our associates L’Arche Kenya and Talitha Kum children home also had a reason to say thank you to God for they have always had their daily bread.
We appreciated the fact that we have never lacked food, clothes and all our daily needs have always been taken care of, we recounted the generosity we have experienced from the communities around us and beyond. We extended our gratitude by sharing some Easter gifts with the children from “In Heavens Eyes”. Every child from our different centres contributed in a small way to the gifts and learnt the importance of taking care of each other and the needy in society.
Fr. Patrick challenged the service providers to focus more on the service and human life than on personal gains that can be accrued. He further had a beautiful message to the children, he said: “Where you are today should not limit your life, God has better plans for each one of you”.After the mass, the children had an interactive moment and enjoyed dancing together.
