However, the programme will continue its services to children with disabilities. This will be carried out as a service to the vulnerable children as part of the outreach mission of L’Arche. While conducting its activities, the new Outreach Programme will to make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities.

Founded in 1999, the Community Programme for People with Disabilities engaged in raising disability awareness, debunking disability-related myths, exposing the plights of people with disabilities and moving the community towards being more inclusive and supportive of people with disabilities. Through a network of volunteers and physiotherapists, thousands of children with disabilities or physical development issues continued to receive curative and corrective therapy.

By joining L'Arche, the programme re-united with an initiative that it had given birth to. The first L'Arche family in Kenya was founded with beneficiaries of CPPD. This was to witness that people with disabilities when receiving the right care and attention can very well lead a decent life and even contribute to the community. With the formation of L'Arche Kenya this teaching was put into practice, as an example for all to see.

St. Martin CSA appreciates CPPD for the precious work done through the years and all significant changes in individual lives it helped facilitate. We wish CPPD now Outreach Programme in L’Arche the best in the new path!
